We all know February is a month of romance, chocolates, and other typical Valentine’s Day rituals. How about showing your heart some love too? As American Heart Health Month approaches, it could not be a better time to incorporate better lifestyle habits to keep your heart healthy and happy and improve your overall health. The CDC reports heart disease as a leading cause of death in the United States with one in every four deaths being related to cardiovascular events. However, by incorporating certain lifestyle changes, you can greatly reduce the risks as lifestyle plays a huge role in health outcomes. These lifestyle management tips include eating a healthy diet, increasing exercise, getting frequent checkups, reducing levels of daily stress and quitting smoking. You may have plans to shower your loved ones with gifts and heart-themed cards but showing your love by taking care of your health and protecting your heart may be the greatest gift of them all.
